Buttoned enemy vehicles are significantly crippled through major penalties in sight range, maximum movement speed, acceleration and deceleration. It is also capable of disabling the targeted vehicle's weapons. The duration of the ability is 20 seconds, but the maximum speed penalty only lasts for up to 14 seconds.

Only Infantry Sections with the Bren LMG upgrade, as well as Bren Carriers without the Vickers MMG upgrade, can use this ability. Note that there are minor differences between the Bren Carrier's and the Infantry Section's version of the ability.

Info

Infantry Section Button Enemy Vehicle

  • Enable Weapon = False. Hardpoint 2 (Coaxial MG) is disabled as soon as the ability starts. There is a delay of 5 seconds before Hardpoint 1 (Primary weapon) and 3 (Hull MG) are also disabled. Note that the top MG42 gun (comes with upgrades or veterancy) counts as a 4th hardpoint and thus is not disabled by Button Enemy Vehicle.
  • Sight Radius: x0.01 (-99%)
  • Acceleration: x0.1 (-90%)
  • Deceleration: x8 (+700%)
  • Maximun Speed: x0.1 (-90%). This modifier only lasts for 14 seconds, while the rest of the ability lasts up to 20 seconds.

Bren Carrier Button Enemy Vehicle

  • Enable Weapon = False: Hardpoint 2 (Coaxial MG) is disabled as soon as the ability starts.
  • Maximun Speed: x0.2 (-80%). This modifier only lasts for 14 seconds, while the rest of the ability lasts up to 20 seconds.
  • Squad Priority: +55. This affects the Target Table. The increase in priority makes it more likely for units to attack the vehicle that is being buttoned by the Bren Carrier automatically. However, for most weapons this change in priority will not affect them too much. (Ex. Allied infantry weapons still have higher priority on infantry units despite this boost for most vehicles)

Tactics

  • Button Enemy Vehicle is a very useful for disabling a vehicle so it causes less harm and can be destroyed more easily.
  • It is recommended to use in conjunction with other anti-vehicle weapons.
  • The effectiveness of Button Enemy Vehicle's slow is affected by the amount of squad members (for Infantry Sections), so it is advisable to keep squad members alive and have all of them intact while using the ability.
  • It only has a relatively short range of 30, and while buttoned vehicles are heavily crippled, they are not stopped from moving. Be sure to move well within the range radius before activating the ability, as using it at maximum range can allow the target to get away.
  • Button Enemy Vehicle can also be used by Bren Gun Infantry Sections garrisoned inside buildings or Kangaroo Carriers. For Kangaroos in particular, the ability continues to work even if the Kangaroo is actively moving. This is very useful for disabling a weapon quickly due to the carrier's speed, as well as keeping the Bren Gun squad alive and being able to use the ability while moving. It can be put to effective use if used in conjunction with other weapons, such as PIATs. In order to use Button Enemy Vehicle while inside a Kangaroo or building, select the Bren Gun squad individually by clicking its icon in the garrison slots(middle bottom), or by pressing the 'tab' key to cycle through individual squads. Either steps will bring up the selected squad's abilities in the user interface (bottom right).
